Zambianwatchdog July 30, 2012: On April 1, 2012, president Michael Sata increased his salary by more than 100 per cent.
Statutory instrument no. 17 of 2012 signed by Finance minister Alexander Chikwanda shows that president Michael Sata now gets K327 million per annum.
He also gets an allowance of K80 million.
According to the amended 2008 presidential Emolument Bill the annual salary of the president was pegged at K164,120,016.00. His annual allowances were reduced from K157,210,523.00 to K64959,494,734. His total annual compensation is K223,614,750.00.
